About the RoleWe're seeking a dedicated Research Assistant to contribute their expertise in trauma, postnatal mental health, and PTSD to our dynamic team. Situated within the esteemed Traumatic Stress Clinic and Interventions Research Stream, you'll play a pivotal role in implementing intervention studies and advancing perinatal mental health research. From assisting in participant recruitment to data collection and analysis, you'll be at the forefront of groundbreaking research that directly impacts clinical practice. Your responsibilities will include:
Respond to phone and online queries, explain research studies to potential participants, and screen participants for study eligibility.
Recruit participants for the Momentum Traumatic Birth Study including at recruitment sites at the Mercy Hospital, Frances Perry House, and/or the Phoenix Australia Traumatic Stress Clinic.
Recruit and schedule participants/book appointments in intervention studies within the Phoenix Australia Traumatic Stress Clinic.
Who We Are Looking ForYou're skilled in organisation, meeting deadlines, and prioritisation. Proficient in various computing tasks, you adapt easily to new technologies. Thriving in both independent and collaborative settings, you embrace flexibility in multidisciplinary teams.
You will also have:
Undergraduate degree with first class Honours in psychology or related mental health field or working towards completion of Honors degree in psychology or related mental heath field.
Experience in liaising with clients with mental health difficulties, including handling confidential information, and knowing when to escalate appropriately.
Prior administrative or research experience within a health, mental health, or clinical research environment.
Experience in recruiting study participants in a health, mental health, or clinical research environment and/or experience in longitudinal and intervention studies.

About the RoleThe Research Assistant (RA) will contribute to the BLEND-2 clinical trial at Orygen, focusing on bipolar disorder in youth. Responsibilities include participant recruitment, conducting clinical interviews, data collection, regulatory reporting, stakeholder engagement and adhering to Australian Good Clinical Practice guidelines. With some out-of-hours work required, the RA will work closely with the project manager, Mr. Dylan Hammond, ensuring accurate data collection and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders.
Your responsibilities will include:
Identifying and recruiting research participants and recording participant information and consent procedures, ensuring confidentiality is maintained throughout.
Coordination, collection, and entry of data obtained through research assessment measures.
Manage adverse event reporting in collaboration with the project manager and the lead investigator.
Assist in the preparation of applications to ethics and other oversight bodies and support with amendments to existing projects.
Who We Are Looking ForYou will be an ideal candidate if you possess strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail and you remain composed under pressure. Your ability to adapt to changing priorities, coupled with well-developed organisation and time management skills, will ensure effective performance in dynamic environments.
You will also have:

About the RoleThe Research/Senior Research Fellow roles in Implementation Science, Lung Cancer Screening offer a unique opportunity in the Evaluation and Implementation Science Unit (EISU) at Melbourne School of Population and Global Health. Responsible for leading the 'Ready to Screen' (R2S) trial funded by the Medical Research Future Fund, candidates will manage the trial, engage stakeholders, and contribute to shaping Australia's first targeted national screening program for lung cancer.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading the development and execution of implementation activities and lead data analysis and interpretation for the R2S trial. Contribute to the methodological rigour of the Lung Cancer Screening implementation trial.
Working collaboratively with the R2S team by leading protocol development, ethics and governance approvals, and manage investigators’ participation in the implementation trial activities.
Working collaboratively with the R2S team to deliver the trial in primary care practices, including negotiating the implementation of trial resources and materials for primary care staff (providers and administrators).
Making significant contributions to writing peer-reviewed manuscripts and mentoring junior research staff in analysing qualitative and/or quantitative data and preparing manuscripts for submission.
Who We Are Looking ForYou will excel in this role as an academic leader who enjoys attention to detail, engaging with stakeholders, and taking a leadership role in grant development and project execution. Your collaborative research capacity, coupled with excellent communication and negotiation skills, ensures successful outcomes. Additionally, your strong organisational skills and effective teamwork enable efficient management of deadlines and demands.
You will also have:
A PhD in a relevant discipline such as implementation science, health services research, public health, behavioural science / health psychology, epidemiology or social sciences.
A track record of publications in academic journals that demonstrates extensive experience in quantitative and/or qualitative data analysis and interpretation, as well as preparing manuscripts for peer review.
A thorough knowledge and demonstrated experience in implementation or improvement sciences inclusive of conducting of real-world, pragmatic trials.

Demonstrated capacity for collaborative research, including working in teams where contributors are located across multiple organisations.

About the RoleThe Program Manager in Implementation Science for Lung Cancer Screening plays a crucial role in managing research projects to inform Australia’s National Lung Cancer Screening Program.
