Classification Title:RES AST PROFJob Description:The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is seeking candidates for a non-tenure track position at the level of Research Assistant Professor. This is a twelve-month, non-tenure accruing, time-limited faculty position available at the Florida Institute for Cybersecurity (FCIS) Research in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering and the University of Florida. Initial appointment will be for two years with annual re-appointments based on performance and available funding.The preferred candidate will have experience in hardware security research, particularly in the areas of hardware security verification and validation, especially in the domain of IP/SoC design, implementation, and integration. The candidate should also have a strong understanding of state-of-the-art hardware (HW) and software (SW) security issues and their interactions across the HW/SW boundary. Emphasis on designing and prototyping multi-abstraction-layer security solutions in the ASIC domain is desired. Experience in research and development, and collaborations between academia, industry, and/or government entities are also highly preferred. The candidate is also expected to co-supervise PhD students in the laboratory, as well as develop and write new research proposals to obtain external research funding.Duties will include, but not be limited to, conducting research on CAD tools and design flow development for trusted and secure implementations of the circuit and system-level applications, hardware-software cooperative threat detections and mitigations, and security-oriented system-level validation and verification, such as security-oriented property checking, hardware security formalism, and system-level monitoring, as well as mentoring master and PhD students, and writing proposals for industry/government-level funding agencies.
