Job Description:
The University of Florida Department of Medicine is seeking applications for a Assistant/Associate/Full Professor (Research) for the Division of Nephrology, Hypertension, and Renal Transplantation. Position can be tenure or non-tenure track dependent on the applicant. The Nephrology Division is active in all academic missions with a variety of strong research, educational, and clinical activities. The Division seeks to recruit dynamic faculty members who will enhance the division’s research and scholarly activities, collaborate with colleagues across the college, as well as teach and mentor. We are especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the excellence of the academic community through their research. The ideal candidate will have a track record of successful research and scholarly activity, as demonstrated by excellent peer-reviewed publications and acquisition of extramural funding. Minimum Requirements:
Master’s degree in an appropriate area; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:

Work and communicate with personnel from submitting accounts as well as courier.Resolves discrepancies working with others in order to expedite cases. Assists with administrative tasksas needed such as computer assistance with manuals, MSDS and chemical inventory. Disposes of tissuefrom completed surgical specimens. Oversees inventory of the lab and place all orders as needed. Keepschemical and biohazard elements properly maintained stored and disposed of. Act as safetyrepresentative and monitor for department. Cleans laboratory equipment and spaces. This may includebench-tops, and storage areas. The individual in this position will be expected to display a positive attitudeto promote a good working environment and positive morale for the rest of the staff in this area on a dailybasis. Electron Microscopy - Under general supervision, perform routine and advanced transmissionelectron microscope laboratory procedures related to the processing of specimens used for clinicalpurposes. Prepare specimens for observation under an electron microscope using specialized techniques.Maintain diamond knives, and cut and trim tissue to microscope dimension using an ultramicrotome.Perform specialized photographic techniques to capture and produce digital images. Manage the digitalarchives of images and make images available electronically to users.
Staining - Perform specialized techniques such as immunofluorescence and immunochemistryrelated to the processing of specimens for clinical purposes. Develop specimen preparation techniquesunder general supervision when necessary.
Maintenance - Maintain electron microscopes including basic troubleshooting. Maintain ancillaryequipment including ultramicrotome, cryostat, fume hood, and digital camera. Assist manager withinventory control of chemicals and other supplies needed for diagnostic electron microscopy as well asimmunofluorescence and immunochemistry techniques.
Records and Safety - Maintain records and files of specimens prepared and photographed. Performlaboratory safety procedures and ensures compliance of quality control standards.
Expected Salary:
Starting salary is between $ 27.77 - $31.36 per hour
Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and four years of appropriate experience; or licensed as a Histology Technologist; or certification by the Electron Microscopy Society of America. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Job Description:
The Department of Epidemiology (http://epidemiology.phhp.ufl.edu/) at the University of Florida invites applications for a postdoctoral research associate, available immediately, in the area of molecular epidemiology of breast cancer. The Postdoctoral Associate will work with a multidisciplinary team of investigators on projects that focus on molecular markers in benign breast disease and breast cancer, contributions of gut microbiome to breast health, and other related analyses. The successful candidate will work on large prospective cohort data and assist in managing laboratory analyses, including immunohistochemistry and tissue marker expression data. Expectations include performing statistical analysis, writing articles for publications, presenting findings in conferences, and submitting extramural funding proposals.
UF Epidemiology: The Department of Epidemiology is strategically situated within the College of Public Health and Health Professions (PHHP) and the College of Medicine. Faculty members are jointly appointed to create synergies and collective strength, resulting in a competitive research profile and highly trained students who receive exceptional exposure to diverse expertise.
